Sony Camera Rental in Mauritius
MediaVision is an ARRI-certified rental house based in Mauritius. Alongside our ARRI and RED inventory we carry a full Sony package — Cinema Line bodies, the BURANO, Alpha mirrorless bodies and a complete set of G Master primes and zooms — supported from our own facility on the island and shipped across the Indian Ocean.
SONY CAMERA BODIES
Four Sony bodies, chosen so that a production can stay inside one colour science from the A camera down to the crash cam. The BURANO is the 8K full-frame flagship with in-body stabilisation and an electronic ND, and takes both E and PL glass. The FX6 is the workhorse: full-frame, 4K, S-Cinetone straight out of the camera, small enough to hand off to a gimbal operator. The FX3 is the smallest Cinema Line body at 715 g ready to run — the one that goes on the drone, in the housing, or through a doorway a full rig cannot. The a7R V covers high-resolution stills and plates.
All four share Sony colour, so an FX3 cut against a BURANO grades together without a fight.

Sony Cinema Line FX6, Full Frame 4K Cinema Camera
The FX6 Full-Frame Camera from Sony was developed to offer versatile, cine-style imaging in a truly compact form. With the ability to capture up to 15+ stops of dynamic range, Sony's S-Cinetone gamma for filmlike skin tones, and up to 10-bit, 4:2:2 XAVC-I recording, the FX6 is poised to both supplement your FX9 or VENICE capture and to nimbly take on documentary, gimbal, and drone shoots on its own. The FX6 camera combines a 4K full-frame Exmor R sensor with a BIONX XR engine for extremely sensitive capture in a range of settings using a base ISO of 800 as well as an ISO 12800 high-sensitivity mode for nuanced low-light scenes.
Sony FX3 Full-Frame Cinema Camera
The Sony FX3 is a full-frame Cinema Line camera in a body small enough for gimbal, drone and handheld work. 10.2MP back-illuminated sensor, 15+ stops, 4K up to 120p and 1080p to 240p, S-Cinetone and S-Log3, active cooling and a detachable XLR handle. Available for rental in Mauritius and across the Indian Ocean.
Sony a7R V (a7R 5) Mirrorless Camera
Combining resolution and precision, the Sony a7R V is the mirrorless camera designed for those who crave detail. Featuring a 61MP full-frame sensor, all-new AI-based autofocus system with advanced subject recognition, 8K video recording, and 8-stop image stabilization, the fifth-generation a7R is reliable and well-rounded for both photography and video applications.

A complete full-frame G Master set on E mount: 14mm f/1.8, 24mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.4 primes, backed by the 24-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8 zooms. SONY UNDERWATER
Underwater is where the Indian Ocean actually earns its money, and Sony bodies go in the water here. The Gates FX6 Underwater Housing is purpose-built for the FX6. The Scubacam housing and splash bag covers surface, splash and shallow work.

Scubacam Underwater Housing / Splash-Bag
Scubacam's range of housings is designed to be operated just above the water surface or down to 4m below it, or in very dusty or dirty environments.
Supported by a lightweight yet strong anodised aluminium framework, the Scubacam splash housings are made from very hard-wearing, robust polyurethane and are sealed with a specialised YKK watertight zip made to the U.K. M.o.D. specifications, which is welded to the housing, ensuring a 100% watertight seal.
The camera is inserted through the zip, and the housing is rendered waterproof by closing the zip. The clear heat-sealed PVC windows allow the user to view the camera menus, displays and indicators. All the joins and seams of the unit are double-stitched and taped on both sides for added security.
Scubacam splash bags require minimal tools to install, operate, and remove the camera assembly - A "dry" studio rig can be installed with almost no adjustments due to the ARRI standard dovetail inside all housings. All other operating adjustments are designed to be done by hand.

We are based in the north of Mauritius and deliver island-wide. From here Réunion is 245 km, Madagascar 1,067 km, the Seychelles 1,728 km and the Maldives 3,201 km — all territories we service, with kit and crew handled from one place. Mauritius is English- and French-speaking, which removes most of the friction from an incoming crew.
Heat and humidity are the real constraint on Sony bodies in this part of the world. Every body in this list is prepped and tested before it leaves the facility, and supplied with the power and media it needs to run a full day outdoors.
