MediaVision is the closest full film equipment rental house to most Indian Ocean locations. We are based at Film Studio Building, M2 Motorway, 31302 The Vale, Grand Baie, in the north of Mauritius, and we rent ARRI-certified camera, lens, lighting, grip, VTO, audio, drone, photography and unit equipment, together with the technical film crew to run it, across Mauritius, Réunion, Madagascar, the Seychelles and the Maldives.

How far is our equipment from your location?

These are straight-line distances from our warehouse in Mauritius, compared with the European rental houses most productions default to.

The point is simple. A production shooting in Réunion is roughly 38 times closer to our ARRI inventory than to a Paris rental house. For Madagascar it is around eight times closer, and even the Maldives, the furthest territory we serve, sits at under a third of the distance to Europe.

Why that distance matters on a shoot

Freighting a camera and lighting package from Europe means long-haul air cargo, temporary-import paperwork, customs clearance at both ends, and a package that is out of anyone’s hands for days. Every one of those steps is a place where a shoot day can be lost. Sourcing regionally shortens the chain: fewer flight legs, fewer customs touchpoints, and a rental house in the same time zone as your production office.

It also means that if something fails on day three, the replacement is a regional flight away rather than a continent away.

Territories we serve

Mauritius

Our home base. Full inventory, same-island delivery, and a shop for consumables and filmmaking tools at our premises in The Vale, Grand Baie.

Réunion

Our nearest neighbour at 245 km, a short hop from Mauritius and by far the fastest territory for us to reach. For Réunion productions, sourcing from Mauritius rather than metropolitan France removes an entire long-haul freight leg.

Madagascar

Antananarivo sits 1,067 km from our warehouse. Madagascar has limited local high-end camera and lighting inventory, which makes a regional rental house the practical alternative to importing from Europe or South Africa.

Seychelles

Mahé is 1,728 km away. For the resort, commercial and documentary work the Seychelles attracts, we can supply complete camera, lighting and grip packages plus the crew to operate them.

Maldives

Malé is 3,201 km from Mauritius, still under a third of the distance from Europe, and closer than Dubai is to us. For Maldives shoots the regional option removes days of transit from the schedule.
